I know it's just hype to sell a movie, but I like it anyway!

Joseph Browning is working on an awesome Kickstarter project that could use your support! Awesome OSR artists such as Peter Mullins and Andy "Atom" Taylor are providing cool artwork, and Joe is letting me crash the party as well! This will be a fun project, but it won't happen without your support! Go here to contribute!

Shooting the Moon
I normally don't talk about this stuff on C&D, but since it's such a large chunk of what's happening now, I will. As some of you might already know, I am diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Colon cancer, and Jenn and I have been dealing with this for years now.
Sometimes when dealing with cancer treatment, it gets to feeling like you are on a perpetual treadmill of chemo and scans to see what the chemo is doing, and that this goes on and on without much real hope of changing things. And this is how things were feeling for us.
But, sometimes hope is where you least think it will be. Today is one of those time when hope becomes apparent. Today we are starting a new, and
I think, better approach to my cancer. Through diet and excercise, new drugs we hadn't tried, and maybe even a touch of surgery, we're going at it differently. We are stepping off the hopeless treadmill, and daring to live.
Shooting at the Moon, if you will.

Into the Shadow Vale
The Shadow Vale Player's Guide for Torn World is out and available on RPGNow! Alyssa Faden has done a wonderful job with this and it is a product definitely worth your while. Plus, this marks the first Pathfinder compatible product I've done art for, which is some sort of milestone, I think... Fear not, Old Schoolers, this fine product would be quite easily used for your purposes as well!

Meanwhile, in the depths of the Space Fortress...
This weekend was a quiet one, which was nice to have. Spent a lot of my time reading John Stater's excellent Tales of the Space Princess game, which is just a beautiful thing. If I have to sum up Space Princess in a sentence, it would be: A dungeon crawl on the Death Star. It's approach is just so straight forward, and the nods to classic science fiction of television and the movies are so unabashed, Space Princess charms you right away. I usually don't go into reviews and things here on Curmudgeons, but I do like Space Princess a lot, and haven't seen something as imagination charged as this since Encounter Critical.
Which leads us to the Ro-Man above, lurking in the Space Fortress. Obvious nod to Robot Monster here!

Labyrinth Lord Referees Screen revealed!
Just got done signing all the Labyrinth Lord Referees Screens that kindly folks purchased through the Kickstarter program, and I do have a bit of a kink in my hand and neck. Still, it was awfully cool to get to sign all those screens, and so I suppose it wouldn't hurt to let you guys in on the big secret. So, here you go, the art for the LL Refs screen that will be heading your way soon!

Flogging a Dead Horse
Or at least it seems so. Some of you might remember this image, which I did for James Malisweski's Cursed Chateau back in 2009. This image not only got used in that adventure, but was also featured in a gallery show at the Indianapolis Contemporary Gallery featuring the art of that book.
Well, this week this same image will make an appearance at the Soho Gallery for Digital Art in New York City in the show titled "Dungeons & Dragons: On and Ever Onward" , which runs from January 4th to the 11th. I'm proud to represent our hobby in such a space, and a little shocked to have it happen yet again with this piece. Nice way to start out the new year, eh?

1st Post of the New Year
And for the first post of 2012, I present the first drawing of 2012. Working on a study of dwarves, and this one is maybe a little too happy looking for my tastes. Definitely will try to dial up the dour for future studies.
